Description Butterfly Cloche Hello From Liz Mathews Butterfly Cloche was stitched on 40 Bramble linen from Picture This Plus using one strand of Needlepoint Silk Inc thread over two threads of linen. This piece was worked using cross stitches and back stitches (done in 993/DMC 310) for the antennae and cocoon accents. Single butterflies were stitched and placed under antique glass paper weights for a unique, specimen-like finish. The paperweights originally had postcards glued underneath which were easily removed after soaking the weights in soapy water. The stitched butterflies were backed with black felt and glued under the paperweight. The charting for the single blue butterfly is found below.
