Description This product is for the Rise Above the Waters, Hurricane Helene Charity Ornament and Acorn Thread Keep designed and created by Jackie du Plessis and Cathe Ray We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for the gorgeous design from Jackie du Plessis of It’s Fine-ally Finished, “Rise Above the Waters”. The silk fiber and linen for the kits were also generously donated by stitching friends. Thank you so much to our friends who so generously donated the supplies! We are just so blessed and grateful to be part of this wonderful community of needleworkers. Thoughts from Jackie: “My goal was to use the acorn to show strength and the possibility of always having new growth. I wanted to use connecting borders as my way of showcasing community/friendship/bond that we stitchers share with our connections. The two flowers are my idea of showing that with just a few stitches, much can be done – a pretty flower. And the two squirrels were added because they work so hard to store for winter… and no matter how harsh winter is… they make it into spring. ” Thank you Jackie… for putting so much of your heart into helping us and others impacted by Hurricane Helene. Additionally, we have included the ornament, created and very generously donated by our friend and fellow shop owner, Cathe Ray of Needle in a Haystack and The Floss Queen. In keeping with Jackie’s theme of hope and growth, and strength from small beginnings, Cathe chose an Acorn to accompany the ornament. Etched across the acorn are the words, Rise Above the Waters. It’s just beautiful and a perfect partner to the ornament. Please consider purchasing this lovely thread keep to go with your ornament. Many thanks to Cathe for this beautiful and very generous addition to our fundraising effort. The majority of proceeds from the sales of the ornament and the thread keep will be donated to local charities in the Western NC and Eastern TN areas devastated by Hurricane Helene. Thank you all so very much for the overwhelming response to this effort! You are so appreciated!
